Pitch – Me, Myself
and I
My Me, Myself and I project will tackle my enjoyment of
expression and comfort of sexuality. This will be done by showing a three
minute short, including the process of getting ready for going for a few
drinks, going through my change in mannerisms and personality in accordance to
the character I am trying to portray for the night as I continue to drink. I
have done this since the age of 14/15 which has now become force of habit and
almost routine.
The first part of my project will show the ordinary me,
sat within the studio at University, I will be in there with other students so
you can see my natural personality and how people respond to it. This will
progress to walking home, talking to the camera op. the end will be star fishing
on my bed in normal clothes and napping.
The second part of my project would be recorded in
16mm. In which I would be getting ready, this will start from realising to get
ready, to showering, shaving to getting ready to leave the house. This would
essentially have close ups on the current action being performed. Such as a
close up to shaving, putting my shoes on etc. There would be no dialogue to
this but would require sound such as the bath/shower running, draws opening and
closing and possibly some music I have in the background when I’m getting
ready. This will be edited with lots of short quick cuts with some overlaying.
The third part of my project, will be filmed on the AVC
which will show the changes I go through to get into character while drinking.
I want to make this as plain as possible to capture natural responses from
others within the group I will be drinking with, this would allow me to show
comfort others have in regards to my ‘act’ and change of characteristics. A lot
of the shots would be static but took from different set ups within the area we
drink in. These will be edited in according to what feels right.
The final piece will be laying back on my bed after a
good night of drinking.
I will be overlaying stills from previous night’s
drinking to further reinforce the multiple options I give myself for
characterisation, these will be seen at various points throughout the short.
