This Blog primarily acts as a sort of reference for myself to refresh my knowledge over my studies at CCAD. Essentially it is a custom encyclopedia to help me learn and understand the information i need to progress. Some posts do contain sources from the internet, either partially or as a whole; these posts are just information that has peaked my interest while browsing.

Making an Automata out of Wood and Paper
Automata making, from a cast this was paper mache'd into a casing. once all of the technical elements were working they were also added to the Automata. I used Brown and Cherry boot polish to give everything a wax feel, and a consistent colour of a darker wood. The handle rotates and make the doll laugh.
Casting part of a skull, with Fibre glass.
Clay walls were built around the skull so only what was needed was showing
Moulding poured in and left to cool down and set.
Fibre glass applied to the mould and left overnight
Removed the fibre glass skull and cleaned it up a little, removing the rough edges

Working with The Time Bandits
Working on a project of a WWI Trench for a re-enactment. This was for The Time Bandits and their centenary anniversary of WWI. The images opposite are of me, others that worked on the trench, and a member of the Time Bandits acting his part within the trench.
A Decline in Activity
Their has been a decrease in activity for a fair few months; i will from now on be uploading examples of work and my learning process' and experience's at least once a week. I will also be posting a link to my Facebook work page which can be liked/followed by anybody who wish's to keep up with my work; this work will extend beyond Production Design, and will now include Photography, Digital Editing, and Digital Sculpting not necessarily associated with my University work.
